Real health insurance for mumdadsiblingskidsfamily back home
Health cover for your family in Nigeria, paid monthly from where you are. They walk into any Swift clinic when they fall ill, and you see the visit and the receipt on your phone the same day.
How it works
Three steps. Cover starts the day they need it.
Pick a plan
Choose who you'd like covered in Nigeria and the level of care that fits your budget.
They get enrolled
We send each family member a digital ID card over SMS and WhatsApp. They show it at any Swift clinic.
You stay in the loop
You see every visit and prescription as it happens, so nobody has to text you asking for money.
What's covered
The everyday illnesses that send Nigerian families to the clinic.
Malaria
Rapid diagnostic test, full medication course, and a follow-up consult included.
Typhoid
Widal test, antibiotics where indicated, and review until they're back on their feet.
Chest infections
Coughs, sinusitis, bronchitis and other acute respiratory illness, managed start to finish.
Stomach bugs
Gastroenteritis and infective diarrhoea, with oral rehydration and review.
Minor injuries
Cuts, burns, sprains. Same-day care at any clinic in the network.
Emergency care
Genuine emergencies covered from day one, including out-of-network when needed.
Swift Core is a lean beta plan: primary outpatient cover for the conditions above plus emergency care. Hospitalisation, specialist visits, telemedicine, dental, optical and maternity sit outside this beta and will be considered for later releases.
Pricing
Indicative: from $11 a month per family member. Paid in USD, GBP, EUR or CAD.
Pay monthly or annually in your own currency. We absorb the foreign exchange. Change who you cover, or pause cover entirely, whenever you need to. Two weeks' notice on the bigger changes, none on the smaller ones.
First Kin Nigeria plans open for enrolment in Lagos later this year.
Why this pricing works for families abroad
- You pay in USD, GBP, EUR or CAD with no hidden FX margin.
- Premiums reflect Nigerian healthcare costs, not Western ones.
- Small flat copays at the clinic, pharmacy and lab, capped so a visit never breaks the bank.
- One sponsor can cover parents, siblings and children on a single account.
Built for trust
Answerable, and honest about how we operate.
Regulation
Cover will be delivered under the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) framework. Accreditation is pending ahead of launch.
Data
Your family's data will be encrypted, never sold, and processed in line with Nigeria's Data Protection Act.
Network
Provider partnerships are being secured ahead of launch. Every clinic, pharmacy and lab will be hand-picked.
FAQ
The questions families ask first.
What if my mum doesn't have a smartphone?+
No problem. Cover works from a printed ID card too. We post one to the address you give us, and any Swift clinic can verify her eligibility by scanning the QR or by typing her policy number. Her smartphone is convenient, not required.
What if my family moves cities?+
Cover travels with them. At launch, Swift clinics will span Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and a growing list of cities, and your family can walk into any in-network clinic.
Do I need a local bank card in my family's country?+
No. You pay in your own currency (USD, GBP, EUR, CAD) with any major card, and Swift handles the conversion. Your family receives care priced in local currency, so nothing changes for them at the clinic.
Can I cover multiple family members on one account?+
Yes. Add as many as you'd like. Each person gets their own digital ID card and Swift bills you monthly or annually for the group.
When will I be charged?+
Not today. Joining the waitlist is free and never converts to a paid plan on its own. When enrolment opens for your country, we'll email you and you decide whether to activate cover.
What if my family member never needs to use it?+
That's the point of insurance: you only notice it when something goes wrong. You can pause or cancel any time before a renewal cycle, no fees.
