Terms of Service

Pre-launch: These terms describe how Swift Health Insurance plans will operate once we go live. They do not yet bind anyone. There are no active policies. They're published in advance so prospective members can review them before enrolment opens. Each member will be asked to accept the then-current version at enrolment.

1. Parties and agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the relationship between Swift Health Limited ("Swift") and you, the policyholder or authorised representative ("Member"). By registering for an Swift health plan, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident aged 18 or above to register as a principal member.
  • Dependents may be enrolled from birth; corporate employees may be enrolled by their employer.
  • You must complete identity verification (KYC) before coverage becomes active.
  • Providing false information during registration is grounds for immediate policy cancellation without refund.

3. Coverage

Coverage is defined by the Swift Lite plan you enrol in. The Schedule of Benefits and the full list of conditions covered and excluded are available in your account under "Policy Details". In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Schedule of Benefits, the Schedule of Benefits prevails.

Swift Lite is essential outpatient cover for a defined set of conditions. Services not listed in your Schedule of Benefits, including inpatient admission, specialist consultations, telemedicine, dental, optical, maternity, mental health and chronic disease management, are excluded. Pre-existing conditions are covered after a 12-month waiting period unless otherwise stated in your plan.

4. Premiums and payment

  • Premiums are payable monthly or annually in advance.
  • A 14-day grace period applies after the renewal due date. Coverage continues during this period.
  • After the grace period expires, coverage lapses. You have a further 30-day reinstatement window during which payment of all outstanding premiums restores cover without a new waiting period. After the reinstatement window closes the policy is cancelled and a new policy (with the full waiting period) is required to rejoin.
  • Premium rates are reviewed annually. You will be notified 60 days before any rate change takes effect.

5. Claims

  • Claims must be submitted within 90 days of the date of service.
  • Claims submitted by enrolled providers on your behalf are considered authorised by you.
  • Swift reserves the right to investigate suspicious claims and may request supporting documentation.
  • Fraudulent claims will result in immediate policy termination and may be referred to law enforcement.

6. Exclusions

The following are not covered under any Swift plan unless explicitly stated:

  • Cosmetic procedures not medically necessary.
  • Experimental treatments not approved by NAFDAC.
  • Treatment for self-inflicted injuries or substance abuse (without rehabilitation programme enrolment).
  • Treatment received outside Nigeria without prior authorisation.
  • Infertility and reproductive treatment.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your policy at any time from the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Swift does not offer mid-cycle refunds except where required by NHIA regulations or applicable law.

Swift may cancel your policy with 30 days' written notice for material breach of these Terms, or immediately in cases of fraud.

8. Limitation of liability

Swift's liability under any policy is limited to the benefits specified in your Schedule of Benefits. We are not liable for the quality of medical care provided by network providers, though we take provider quality seriously and investigate all complaints.

9. Dispute resolution

All disputes should first be submitted to our internal complaints process (see our Complaints Procedure). If unresolved within 21 days, disputes may be referred to the NHIA for mediation, or to the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse for arbitration. Nigerian law governs these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. You will be notified via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of Swift services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
